Different Citi credit cards may offer their perks and rewards in slightly different ways. Some reward you in points under the Citi ThankYou Rewards programme, while others describe the rewards you earn as CitiMiles. Depending on the card you select you can then redeem your points or miles in various different ways.
Different Citi credit cards earn points or miles at different rates and might have their own rules about the categories of spending you can be rewarded for. Cards may have higher earning rates on some spending categories, such as foreign currency spending, or spending with partner stores for example. You can get the full details of the earning opportunities for your specific card when you apply.
You might also be interested to use Citi PayAll as a way to earn miles when paying bills⁶. Use your credit card to cover your daily bills and get rewarded, with some extra promotional offers from time to time which could even mean you get more when you spend, such as vouchers for spending with Citi partners.
When using Citi PayAll, you have two options:
- Service Fee Payment option: Earn rewards (points, miles, cashback) at your card’s base earn rate, with a service fee incurred.
- Zero Service Fee payment option: Pay no additional fee, but no rewards are earned. This option is for convenient bill payment or expense deferral without extra cost.
If you’d like to convert your ThankYou points to KrisFlyer miles you are able to do so, at the rate of 1,000 points to 1,000 miles.
Once you have accumulated points or miles with your Citi card you can convert them to miles with KrisFlyer online or by calling the ThankYou service center. Not all points can be converted, and some cards have different rules about how and when conversions may take place. Be sure to check all the rules before you get started.
Once you’ve checked you’re eligible to convert your points to KrisFlyer Miles, you can take the following steps⁷:

- Select the KrisFlyer redemption option, or tell the staff member you wish to redeem points
- Give your KrisFlyer account number and confirm the amount of points to convert

If you’re not interested in using the points or miles you’ve earned on SIA flights or upgrades you can choose from various other redemption options. The redemption options available to you will depend on the specific card you have but can include getting cashback or credit to your card account. You can also often choose to exchange points for gifts from the Citi redemption catalogue, including gifts and gift cards for major retailers.
