Here’s what you’ll need:

✅ Aadhaar number (with access to its linked mobile/email for OTPs).
✅ Physical PAN card (no screenshots or e-PAN).
✅ Smartphone/computer with webcam, microphone, and stable internet.
✅ Basic English conversational skills (the video call is in English).
✅ Digilocker access (with your 6-digit security PIN ready).

Supporting documents (based on your transfer purpose):

  • ✈️ Travel: Passport (front page) + visa/travel ticket.
  • 🎓 Education: Student’s passport (front page) + admission letter/student visa.
  • ⚕️ Medical: Passport (front page) + hospital invoice, doctor’s note, or appointment letter.

⚠️ Important notes:

  • You must be physically in India during the video call.
  • No one else can assist you during the video call.
  • Make sure you're in a well-lit, quiet space.

What to Expect During the Video KYC

The video call is simple and takes 3-5 minutes. A Wise agent will ask you to:

  • Read out a 4-digit code displayed on your screen.
  • Show your original PAN card (not a photo or screenshot) to the camera.
  • You’ll need to take a live selfie during the call.
  • The agent will verify your identity using your PAN card and Aadhaar details

Let’s walk you through the simple, step-by-step process to complete the KYC verification for customers in India.

Step 1. Sign up for Wise

  1. Go to wise.com/register to create your account.
  2. Confirm your email and mobile number (keeps your account secure!).
  3. Fill in your details: full name, date of birth, and address — exactly as on your Aadhaar.
  4. Share your current occupation.

Step 2. Set Up Your Transfer

  1. Click "Send Money" from your Wise account.
  2. Enter the amount and currency — you’ll see the fees upfront.
  3. Add your recipient’s details:
    • If they have a Wise account, you can quickly find them by email, phone number, or WiseTag.
    • Otherwise, please add the recipient's name, bank details, and address.
    • You can also capture recipient's details by uploading a PDF/image of their bill, invoice or bank statement.
  4. Select the reason for your transfer (travel, education, medical, etc.) and upload supporting documents.
  5. For TCS compliance, please confirm if your remittances during this financial year is over INR 7 lakh.

Step 3. Start Your KYC

  1. Proceed to verify your identity through IDfy, our KYC verification partner.
  2. Capture your PAN details by taking a photo of your PAN card.
  3. Capture your Aadhar details by clicking "Verify with Digilocker". You'll be asked to log in with your 6-digit Digilocker PIN. (Forgot your PIN? Reset it here first.)
  4. Once Aadhar details are successfully verified, click the "Start Video KYC" button.

  1. Allow camera/microphone access when prompted by your browser—this is secure and only used for the call.
  2. You’ll meet a Wise agent who’ll guide you through:
    • 📢 Reading a 4-digit code displayed on your screen.

    • 😊 Taking a live selfie.
  3. The agent will verify your Aadhaar and PAN details.
